That’s why we offer a few unique ways to volunteer, each designed to fit different strengths, schedules, and levels of commitment.
Whether you’re looking for a hands-on advocacy role or a flexible way to support children and families, there’s a place for you here.
C.A.S.A. Advocates walk alongside kids in the foster system, ensuring their best interests are represented in court and beyond.
You’ll build lasting relationships, receive specialized training, and make a direct impact on a child’s future.
Commitment: About 8–10 hours per month
Training: Initial 4-week in-person training, 1x weekly + ongoing support
Impact: Provide consistent advocacy and ensure every child’s story is heard

VOLUNTEER ADVOCATE
TRAILBLAZERS
Trailblazers guide youth through experiences that spark confidence and connection. From camping under the stars to cooking in the kitchen, Trailblazers give kids safe, joyful moments they’ll never forget.
Ways to Help:
Adventure Guide – Hike, camp, and explore the outdoors with youth.
Celebrity Chef – Teach kids how to cook and share meals together.
Learning Buddy – Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring to help kids thrive in school.
Commitment: Flexible, program-based.
Impact: Create lasting memories and positive role models for kids.
CARE CREW
Care Crew volunteers keep our C.A.S.A. Store and Resource Closet running strong — especially during the holiday season when we receive an incredible influx of donations. From sorting toys and clothing to helping families shop with dignity, the Care Crew makes sure no child or family is overlooked during the busiest, most important times of the year.
Ways to Help:
Closet Keeper – Sort, fold, and organize donations throughout the year.
Holiday Helper – Jump in during the holidays to manage the big wave of gifts and supplies.
Style Supporter – Assist kids and families while they shop the CASA Store.
Care Kit Creator – Pack essentials for children entering foster care.
Commitment: Flexible — a few hours a month, with extra opportunities during the holidays.
Impact: Provide comfort, dignity, and joy by ensuring every child and family has what they need, when they need it most.
Our Board Members are visionary leaders who guide C.A.S.A.’s mission with strategy, compassion, and dedication. They use their expertise, community connections, and passion for advocacy to strengthen programs, support staff, and ensure every child’s voice is heard. By lending their time and wisdom, the Board of Bright Futures keeps C.A.S.A. moving forward with integrity and purpose.
Ways to Help:
Mission Mentor – Share expertise to strengthen C.A.S.A.’s programs and initiatives.
Community Connector – Build bridges with local leaders, donors, and partners.
Event Advocate – Support fundraisers, awareness campaigns, and special events.
Voice for Change – Champion children’s rights and amplify C.A.S.A.’s message.
Commitment: 1–2 meetings per month, with additional opportunities for event participation and advocacy.
Impact: Guide the vision that empowers children & families across New Mexico.
