PROGRAMS
Family Resource Center
Our Family Resource Center is dedicated to empowering families by offering a wide range of essential services. Whether it's food, clothing, housing assistance, or specialized services like counseling and parenting classes, we ensure every family has access to the resources they need to overcome challenges.
Beyond immediate needs, we focus on strengthening family bonds and promoting well-being. Our programs encourage healthy communication, provide education on important life skills, and help families build a solid foundation for long-term success.
Keeping Families Together
The Keeping Families Together (KFT) program at Casakids, in partnership with the Children, Youth, and Families Department (CYFD), is dedicated to supporting families in Chaves County by providing compassionate care and essential resources to help them stay united through challenging times. By offering sustainable housing assistance, we aim to enhance children's safety and prevent foster care placement, ensuring that families can remain together.
Our program emphasizes immediate access to long-term housing, which plays a crucial role in reducing child abuse and neglect.
Through at least 24 months of comprehensive support, including counseling, healthcare, public benefits assistance, and employment support, KFT creates a secure and nurturing environment.
Family Services
Family Services is a referral-based program with the overarching mission of preventing abuse and neglect of children in the home. Our work focuses on addressing situations where abuse or neglect has been identified or where there is a clear need for prevention. By linking families to community resources, we ensure that the support provided is both personalized and culturally sensitive, respecting each family's unique culture, history, and traditions.
Our program offers 6 to 18 months of in-home support, where our dedicated practitioners work closely with families to provide education, skill-building, and reunification assistance, all with the goal of fostering safer and more stable home environments.
Our Visitation & Family Advocacy program offers a structured and safe environment for supervised visitations between children and their non-custodial parents or guardians. These visitations are carefully managed to ensure that children remain in a secure, nurturing space while maintaining important familial connections.
Beyond facilitating visitations, our program also plays a crucial role in advocating for families throughout legal and social service processes.
The ultimate goal of our Visitation & Family Advocacy program is to work towards reunification and long-term stability. By offering both supervised visitation and advocacy, we help families maintain bonds, protect their rights, and move forward toward a more secure and unified future.

Children’s Advocacy Center
Our Children's Advocacy Center (C.A.C.) is a safe haven for children who have suffered from or witnessed abuse, offering a supportive environment where they can receive the specialized care and attention they need. The center is designed to be child-friendly, creating a space where young victims can feel comfortable and secure as they begin their healing process. Our staff includes trained forensic interviewers, victim advocates, and comfort specialists, with the assistance of specially trained courthouse facility dogs to provide comfort and reduce anxiety for children during this difficult time.
At the heart of our Children's Advocacy Center is a multidisciplinary team of professionals working together under one roof. This team includes law enforcement officers, social workers, medical providers, therapists, and the Chaves County District Attorney’s Office, all collaborating to deliver comprehensive services. By bringing these experts together in one location, we reduce the need for children to relive their trauma through multiple interviews, streamlining the process and focusing on their emotional and physical safety.
Counseling Center
Our Counseling Center is a place of healing and hope, dedicated to helping children recover from the effects of trauma. We understand that each child's experience is unique, which is why we offer specialized therapeutic services tailored to meet their individual needs.
To support this healing journey, we employ evidence-based practices such as sand tray therapy and play therapy, which are particularly effective for children who struggle to express their feelings through words.
Our compassionate therapists are committed to creating a supportive atmosphere where children can build resilience and start the healing process.
Court Appointed Special Advocates
Our C.A.S.A. program trains volunteers to advocate for children in the foster care system. Through specialized training, volunteers learn to navigate the child welfare and court systems.
Once trained, they work closely with children, gather information, and provide recommendations to the court to ensure each child’s safety, stability, and best interests are prioritized.
